My November 2016 Trip to AG Place Chicago – By IrishAG

12-15-16-023

Hey everyone!  This is kind of a Throwback to a November post that I never finished.  Better late then never!   😀

In November, Curiousgeorgefan, my mom and I all went to AGP Chicago.  It was all decorated for Christmas, with greenery and ornaments, as shown above.  I didn’t take too many pictures, because I was focusing on being there.   🙂

Omigosh, this dress!  It was all over the store, and it is just beautiful.  It’s so sparkly!  The muff is super cute.  The doll I thought looked best in it was Truly Me #55, shown below.

For the first time ever, we went to the restaurant.  It was all decked out and bright.  The waiters were very enthusiastic and friendly.  You could put your doll in a seat to sit with you, or you could borrow a doll.

12-15-16-034

They gave us cups and saucers for the dolls, which was really fun.  You get to take them home!

12-15-16-035It was very fancy!  There were four courses: cinnamon buns, appetizer plate, entrée, and dessert.  Each course was small, but we were filled up.

12-15-16-036I got the “Bitty Bites”, which was a bunch of tiny food on a plate.  It was delish.

12-15-16-040The dessert was a flowerpot of chocolate mousse, and a vanilla cupcake.

Overall, I’d give the Café a 4.9 out of 5 rating.  The only complaint I have is that you could only be in there for an hour, so it was a little rushed towards the end.

12-15-16-044

One of the reasons I wanted to go was to see the Girl Ear Piercing station.  It is located where Creative-tees used to be, on the second level.  I think they discontinued the Creative-Tees because of the Signature Studio, which has more options.  The Doll Hospital drop-off was boarded up with red boards with stars on them.  I wonder what will happen there…

12-15-16-045This is the inside.  There wasn’t anyone there at the moment, so I snapped some pics.  On the lower left is the cart that has (I presume) the sanitation and piercing tools.  The dolls are there to stare at you while the deed is done.  (Just kidding!)  🙂

12-15-16-047This is where it all happens, folks.  The chair is hidden from view by the wall that faces “Avenue AG”.

There is my long-overdue tale.

Have you ever gone to an AG Place?

Lea Movie Premiere Review – By IrishAG

Hello!

On Friday, Mom, Gymnast03, Curiousgeorgefan and I went to American Girl Place Chicago for the Lea movie premiere!  It was so fun!

The movie is called Lea to the Rescue.  Maggie Elizabeth Jones plays Lea Clark, and she is really cute.  The movie is set after the book series, which I love.  Zac is still in Brazil, and is missing.  Lea and her Mom go to Brazil to help look for him.  Can Lea save the day and find Zac?

I really enjoyed the movie.  From the preview, I thought Lea would be totally whiny.  Not so!  And the sloth……….. adorableness!  😀  My Mom liked the movie as well.  It was pretty much nonstop intensity, but it was well acted.  Really little kids might be disturbed by it, but it all ends okay.  🙂

I think it was $10 a person, and that included the movie, popcorn, a Capri Sun or water bottle, a goody bag, crafts and photo ops!  That’s a really good deal for AG.  We checked in at the AG store in Chicago and got our goody bags and wristbands, then walked a block down to the Museum of Contemporary Art for the movie, crafts, concessions and photo ops.  It was crowded, I think it was sold out!

 6-23-16 013

Here’s a picture of Addy waiting for the movie to start in the theatre!  She and I both wore black and white dresses, and Tauriel braids in our hair.

6-23-16 022

Now I’ll review the goody bag!  It says American Girl on it.  Inside, there’s a Lea movie poster, girl and doll passports and doll-sized pineapple juice and popcorn.  I was most excited about the doll food.

So there you go!  Also, AG released the Wellie Wishers and some new doll stuff today!  Go check it out on their website.  🙂  My favorite Wellie Wisher is Willa.  Willa the Wellie Wisher!  🙂

Have you seen the Lea movie?  If so, what did you think of it?

A Snowy Surprise – By IrishAG

 (From Nellie’s POV)

11-24-15 060

I am an early bird, so as usual, I woke up at 6 am.  I looked out the window.  Snow!  I love snow!  I did a little happy dance and woke up Kirsten.

11-24-15 062

  “Whazz gowin onnn,” she mumbled.

11-24-15 063.JPG

I hopped onto her.  “Do you wanna build a snowman?”

11-24-15 064.JPG

Her eyes snapped open.  If anyone loves snow more than me, that’d be Kirsten.

As quietly as we could, we got dressed and bundled up to go out.  Felicity and Julia were woken up by us and insisted on coming too.

11-24-15 065.JPG11-24-15 066

Kirsten and I started making snow angels with Felicity, while Julia ran around with Coconut.

11-24-15 068.JPG

“Who wants hot cocoa?”  Kirsten asked a bit later.

“Me!” Felicity and Julia said in unison.

“You go ahead, I’ll be right there.”  I wanted to spend a little more time outside.

11-24-15 071.JPG

I heard the sound of a car motor.  That’s odd.  Nobody drives at this hour around here.  I craned my neck to see which neighbor it was.  It was, to my shock, a brightly colored bus!  And it stopped in front of our house!

11-24-15 072.JPG

“Thank you,” I heard a girl’s voice say.

I watched as a girl a little younger than me stepped out of the bus and looked about.  She had dark brown hair, blue eyes, and freckles.  She looked nervous.

(From Grace’s POV)

11-24-15 073.JPG

I looked around out of the bus.  The neighborhood was ‘of the middling sort’.  No time like the present, Grace. I reminded myself.  But before I could pick up my bag, I saw a girl running towards me.

11-24-15 074.JPG

“Hi!  I’m Nellie O’Malley, and I’m so happy you came!  Oh my goodness, are you a new neighbor?”

11-24-15 075

Her questions and exclamations all tumbled out so fast, I couldn’t keep up.  “Well, um-“

“Oh, silly me!  Would you like some directions?  What adress are you looking for?”  Nellie asked.

11-24-15 077.JPG

I unfolded my paper.  “Number 365.  I-“

“That’s MY HOUSE!  Come on, I’ll show you!”

11-24-15 079.JPG

Nellie practically dragged me across the yard and into the house.

11-24-15 080.JPG

“GUYS!!!  We have a visitor!”  she yelled.

11-24-15 082

All the girls rushed to see.  They all told me their names, then asked me to share a bit about myself.

11-24-15 084

“My name is Grace Thomas and I love baking.  French desserts are my fave!  My friends and I had a little baking buisness.  I used to live at the AGP Orphanage in Chicago.  I’m excited to be adopted!  The Orphanage was an okay place, but I didn’t want to live there forever.”

11-24-15 085

“Come on,” the girl with brown hair (I think her name was Julia) said,”We can unpack your bag and figure out sleeping arrangements.  I think you get your own bed!”

11-24-15 087

“Wait!” one of the twins said,”Who adopted you?”

I checked my paper again.  “Curious George Fan?”

The twins and Kirsten squealed.  “Another sister!”

11-24-15 089

“Let’s go,” Julia said,”We have a lot of work to do!”

~The End~

Curiousgeorgefan received Grace!  She is SO beautiful and I will do a review of her very soon!  Did you like the story?
